Optional Health Coverage
Affordable coverage options that can help you manage certain medical costs and everyday health expenses.
If major medical coverage feels expensive—or if you are looking for additional protection—optional health coverage plans may provide fixed benefits for covered services or events. These plans are typically used to supplement other coverage, but may also be considered by individuals who want benefit-based coverage options. Depending on the plan, benefits may be paid directly to you unless assigned, and you decide how to use them.
Plan Options
Optional health coverage can include one or more of the following plan types, depending on your needs, eligibility, and state availability:
Fixed Indemnity / Hospital Indemnity (Hospital SafeGuard)
Fixed-benefit plans that may pay cash benefits for covered hospital- and outpatient-related services. Benefits and payment amounts vary by plan and covered event.
Dental & Vision Plans
Coverage options that can help with routine and preventive dental and vision services. Plan benefits and provider access vary by plan.
Accident Insurance (AccidentWise®)
Accidents happen. Accident insurance can help with certain costs related to covered accidental injuries and treatment. You choose the benefit level, and the plan pays benefits for covered expenses.
Critical Illness Insurance
Coverage that may pay cash benefits for covered conditions such as cancer, heart-related issues, or more—depending on the plan. Choose the type and amount of coverage that fits your needs.
Combined Coverage Options (Accident + Critical Illness + AD&D)
Some options may bundle accident insurance, critical illness insurance, and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) coverage into one plan package, depending on availability.
